SODC Website History

First thanks goes to Gerry Manacsa, who first posted a videoclipped photo essays of Sandra on his website at http://www.outofbalance.org after seeing her performances at Miller in "All That You Have is Your Soul". Gerry has an award winning webpage and I am grateful for his friendship and generosity in letting us post his original artwork on SODC's first webpage. His ingenuity and artistry is evident if you visit his website.

Then there came Richard Alo, member of the SODC Executive Board, who committed the resources on University of Houston Downtown's Computational Sciences Dept. They put us up and maintained our website for two years as http://members.aol.com/organdance with the creativity of Mar Azcarraga ( who brought in the leaping dancer), and George Anoop, among others, under the supervision of Aon Tejani. I am also greatly indebted to their patience and their help in setting up databases, grants and many other helpful administrative tasks on behalf of the company. Mr. Alo continues to be of great assistance serving in many ways on the Board. Many thanks to them!!!

After that David and Lucretia Cornell helped with site updating and maintenance. 'Tam' as she likes others to call her, came to work for SODC as an administrative assistant and did wonders in helping Sandra organize the office in her home and the computer files and mailing lists. She had the inside track on web design from her husband, David and came in with great suggestions and follow-through. We are now posted with our own domain ORGANDANCE.ORG and as parting gift (they are moving to Dallas to expand their family from Devlin and start their own web design business) offered to maintain and keep building our website...Most excellent!

In the fall of 2003, SODC was grateful to accept the services of updating, rebuilding and maintenance of our website by Dr. Carlos Solís, Information Technology Consultant at Rice University and founder of Obsidian Digital. With his expertise, SODC has reinvented its website as not only a marketing tool, but as an educational and media resource that will not only eliminate some postage and paper, but give us some cutting edge ways to reach out to the computer literate generations eager for a taste before they come and see!  Carlos envisions this site to be a place to learn up-front about a concert, see a sneak preview video clip, hear what the choreographer has to say about the work created, and eventually get feedback FROM YOU OUR AUDIENCES! This fulfills in a different way our mission to educate the public and diversify the audience for dance as well as providing promotion of contemporary dance in our community and beyond with links to other organizations working with SODC. Anyone can come to our site and find pertinent information regarding dance. Thank you, Dr. Solís for sharing your time, attention and vision in assisting SODC with this much needed next step in its development! Check out his website at Obsidian Digital for your needs.

Sandra is grateful for all these who have furthered SODC presence online and hope to use it as a tool for future marketing and development prospects in the future....Look for a newsletter and tout information, video streaming and some educational tidbits as well! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!
